New Leader Essentials
is an introductory session that highlights the values, aims,
history, funding, and methods of Scouting. It addresses how
these aims and methods are reached in an age-appropriate
style within Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting, Varsity Scouting,
and Venturing. Videos, discussions, and hands-on
reinforcement are presented during the 90-minute training
session. Ideally, all unit-based volunteers take this
session at the same time, so they understand that they are
all striving for the same results with the youth they serve.
Each leader completes New Leader Essentials training only
once.
It is recommended that this be the first
training class you attend. However, if your needs are that you
have to attend the specific class for your position first (due
to scheduling conflicts), that is perfectly acceptable. |
Cub Leader Specific Training
is brand new for this fall. This training is the second of
two parts of training required to be considered a trained
leader. New Leader Essentials is the first part and is
recommended to be taken before the specific classes. This
training provides the specialized knowledge a new leader
needs to assume a leadership role. You need attend only the
specific class which matches your registered position in the
pack.
Each specific class (Tiger, Den, Webelos,
Committee, and Cubmaster) lasts approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes.
Leader Specific Training is required each time a leader
changes positions within the Pack.

Roundtable
Need some ideas? Come to Roundtable! Training is
offered each month, highlighting the next month's theme. Each
Den leader is asked to attend at least 3 Roundtables during the
year and bring copies of what you've learned to share with our
other Den leaders at the monthly Leaders Meeting. Roundtable is
offered the second Tuesday of each month, starting at 7:00pm at
1st Presbyterian Church in E-town. |
BSA Youth Protection Training

certificate e-mailed directly to YOU (which is great for
proving that you did it).
